VEHICLE GAS EMISSION AND ITS IMPACT ON AIR QUALITY

Abstract
The automobile fleet is considered one of the main sources of air pollution, due to the increase propelled by hydrocarbons (fossil fuels). The objective was to determine the emission of vehicular gases and their impact on air quality - Trujillo 2015-2016. The concentration of carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2) and unburned hydrocarbon (HC) were measured. A combustion gas analyzer connected to a vehicle exhaust pipe was used, monitoring was applied in the month of June 2015 (16 samples) and March 2016 (19 samples), in places with greater traffic congestion. It was found that nine vehicles did not comply with the DS Nº 047-2001-MTC standard in the sampling carried out in 2015 and six vehicles in 2016. The emission of vehicular combustion gases negatively impacts the air quality of the city of Trujillo.
